Not Your Grandmother's Dress

Dress - Thrifted
Cardigan - Thrifted
Long-John Leggings - Tractor Supply Co
Socks - Bass Shoe Co
Boots - Bass Shoe Co
Belt - Thrifted
Satchel - Thrifted

This is by far my favorite thrifted find. It's not very pretty by itself, but put it together with some old man cardigan and a belt, and you got a vintage beauty! I love buying old ugly dresses like this and pairing it with something modern - or mordernish. It's easy and anyone can do it! I challenge you to try it! Oh, and the last pic is just some fun with photo editing! :)

Good Little College Student

Black Tank Underneath - Express
Creamy Blouse - Thrifted
Navy Vest - Gift from my friend Liz!
Jeans - American Eagle
Socks and Shoes - Bass Shoe Company
Bag - Mother's from college

Ahh! School has officially began and I can already feel the stress of due dates, assignments, meetings, bad food, papers, and tests. Yesterday, I was in one of my education classes, and after hearing all of the dues dates and things to do before hand, I immediately felt overwhelmed and wanted to quit everything just to focus on this class. Oh my! At least I looked good, right??

Anywho, this little shirt is definitely a favorite of mine! My one friend always comments on its 70ish appeal. I don't know about that...I just really like the bow!

Hmmmm...Tea!

My aunt is obsessed with everything organic and naturally grown, so naturally (hahaha, get it?? - oh my) she got me some Hibiscus flowers for Christmas. It makes a wonderful tea - it has a tangy, woody taste, but you get used it. The Hibiscus flower has been proven to help your heart as it helps reduce the plague build up in your heart. Additionally, it helps in natural weight loss and it's calming effect that helps smooth the wrinkles in your face. So what's not to love about this lovely flower? Hmmm??

I also wanted to show you all this cup/mug she got me as well. It's meant for loose tea leaves and includes a lid. Little fact for you... When you put your natural tea leaves or tea packet in your hot water, all the nutrients escapes with the steam, so this little lid conceals it so you get everything you ask for a cup of tea!

This is box the tea mug was in.

Here are the contents - lid, mug, sifter

I only put a small amount in my hand because it is very strong

 Pour the hot water...

Then place the lid on top!

There you have it! A nice cup of botox tea!

Glitter Galore

Dress - Kohls
Tights - Sears
Socks - Bass Shoe Company
Cardigan - Bass Shoe Company
Watch and Bracelet - Gift from my mommy
Rings - Gifts from my mommy again
Necklace - Grandmothers
Wooden Earrings - Thrifted
Belt - Thrifted

This room is probably my favorite room in my house - one can really get the "feel" of my mother's impeccable and regal taste. Unfortunately, all the red makes it hard to photograph pictures, especially of one's clothes - ha, but you kinda get the idea.

Here I am wearing a glittery nude pink dress I got on sale from Kohls two years ago. I decided to contrast it with the dark burgundy cardigan and wooden-like/gold accessories.

Since I just came back to school, I'm back to knee-length skirts and "jeans instead of tights" look for awhile. But hey, this just challenges me to get a little more creative with my wardrobe. So goodbye little dresses and shear blouses - I will be back in a couple months! Mwah!

Oh, For the Love of Patterns

Dress - Thrifted
Denim Button Down Shirt - Gift from my boss
Vest - Thrifted
Leggings - Sears
Shoes - Gift from Megan!
Necklaces - Both were my Grandma Deanie's
Pinky Ring - From a perfume bottle that I painted
Class Ring - Zales
Pearl Bracelet - Forever 21 (Gift from my sister, Jac!)
Watch - Gift from my mommy
Colored Diamond Bracelet - Forever 21 (Also a gift from Jac)
Pink Stone Bracelet - Gift from my mommy, again

After 6 days of swollen cheeks, 3 seasons of watching steamy Tom Welling in Smallville save the world meteor infected freaks and of course, Lex Luther, and oodles of noodles (since soup was the only thing my poor mouth could handle), I am finally out of the house! Ahh it feels so good to be free! My mouth is still swollen, as you can see in some of the pictures, but it is tremendously better than what it was. You have no idea! My cat was even scared of me!

So on my first day of my "no PJ's during the day" break free, I decided to go all out with patterns. I found this lovely dress at an antique mall near my house and couldn't leave without it! It's probably ancient and shouldn't be worn, but it's too beautiful not to. So I had my sister adjust the length and shoulders and wa-la, it turned out to be a show stopper - well, not really. This vest of course, is just perfect with the pattern on the dress, and I couldn't leave me feet patternless, so I dug through my closet and found these little gems! I almost forgot about them. My dear friend gave them to me when we traveled together on a singing group. Out of the blue, she surprised me with them and I absolutely loved them! So here's my pattern of pattern outfit. Hope you like!

The First of January

Sorry, I haven't been able to keep up with my blog the past couple days, but I've been super busy with work and family parties. AND tomorrow, I'm getting my wisdom teeth taken out! OUCH! Wish me luck, but regardless of how many reassurances I get, I'm still terrified! The last time I went to the doctors I passed out and had a little seizure. Not the ideal situation for a doctor's visit.

Anywho, today I went to my Grandmother's and as we were leaving her drive way, my sister pointed out a rainbow. Oh, how lovely! The perfect start to a new year! A year of promise!
